Never Take For Granted

Happy FriYAY, Babe!!

Well actually your girl is trying to get snatched for the summer season. As a result all French Fry lovin’ is on hold!!! Yes, you read that correctly. I told myself that I will treat myself to some very seasoned French Fries when I lose my first 10lbs. I am currently 7lbs from hitting my first goal. Therefore pray for me because I am craving Chick Fil A’s waffles fries like something serious.

My Husband who works second shift and is always on the go expressed to me last week that he didn’t feel appreciative in our marriage. Then at the beginning of this week one of my Fraternity Brothers and a very close college girlfriend loss their mothers unexpectedly. This week has taught me nothing except to love the people who are near and dear to you because you never know what tomorrow will bring… So instead of a scripture I’m sharing a quote that we should all hold close to our heart. Unfortunately the quote is cliche BUT it’s a great reminder that we all need to hear from time to time. As a result i’m being very intentional on making sure that my Husband get the love that he deserves.

“Never take anything for granted. Learn to appreciate what you have.. before it’s no longer yours to appreciate.”

Galatians 5:24 NLT

24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there.

If its NOT of God nail it to the cross and KILL it!

Regardless if we have food or not- this place is a must for them! & ordering a side of fries is a must for me when visiting… and their buttery biscuits!

February is Black History Month. But not only is it Black History Month which is also American history but it’s also the month of LOVE which is why this weeks verse is about loving God AND your neighbor! So here we go…

Mark 12:30-31 New Living Translation (NLT)

30 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. 31 The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”

Loving your neighbor as yourself is so important to God that He not only repeats Himself, He makes it a command. And not just one in a list of many commands. Jesus coupled the command to love your neighbor as yourself with loving God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.

But loving your neighbor as yourself isn’t always easy. That’s why God made it a command. He knew we’d struggle. Making it a command is actually to our benefit. How is that? We have to do it on purpose, be intentional about it. Sometimes even out of our need.

This Sunday, February 17th is Random Act of Kindness Day. Do something nice for someone who doesn’t look like YOU or who you may not like at the moment! This world is in more dire need of LOVE and it’s our job to spread it.

Production

The main reason I go to Chick-fil-A is for their customer service (duh), lemonade with light ice and for their… WAFFLE FRIES!! They’re always fresh. This is one fast food restaurant where you don’t have to order fries without salt to ensure that they’re piping hot. Wouldn’t you agree??

Unfortunately I don’t have a favorite verse on this beautiful FriYAY! However, I do have a favorite quote that I heard last week while listening to a radio show that I have not been able to get out of my head. It has encouraged me and I hope it will do the same for you!

Ok, the wedges at BW3s are AMAZING! Especially when they are piping hot and super crunchy. Can you believe that so many people go to BW3s and not even order these fantastic wedges!?! The next time you’re there watching a game be sure to order you a side of wedges with your bone in wings.

“My son (& daughter), give me your heart and let your eyes delight in my ways.” Proverbs 23:36

Just like private garages, buildings, and parking lots, many of us of have "Private Property" signs put up on our hearts. It's difficult to allow the future in because of what the past has done. But if we give our "private property" signs to God and allow Him to work on our hearts, the future won't and will not be the past. He's a good Father, and He knows exactly how to handle your heart. Let the love of God enter into your heart again.

Scripture

“And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.” Revelation 12:11 NLT

Yesterday, my Bestfriend and I was chatting over the phone about a few of our past mistakes and how it’s so very important that we forgive ourselves and be willing to share our struggles and testimonies. Of course this was after a few life updates and girl chat. My Husband and I celebrated our 8 year anniversary last November so I decided to go to Instagram and share a few of our marriage mistakes. One mistake that I shared was how many times I took my wedding ring off in our first year of marriage. The number was record breaking and a little embarrassing but my Instagram direct messages begin to fill up with “Thank you for sharing”, “Me too”, “I needed to read this”, and “Girl, we did the same thing”. I could feel a sense of transformation through the words of my testimony and transparency. As a result my Husband and I conducted a Instagram LIVE video and allowed anyone to ask marital questions. The segment was amazing! We were transparent with our past and in hopes that someone would be healed, restored, and set free.

Ask yourself this question… what test have you been through that has now turned into a testimony? And, can my testimony help with someones transformation? If you answered yes to both question I pray that you find the courage to share with others what God has done for YOU!

Stop PRETENDING

Happy FriYAY, Babe!

Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. 10 Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.

Romans 12:9-10

In other words, we shouldn't pretend to love each other but we should really love each other and love each other hard! Our love for others should supersede our love for ourselves! God placed His PERFECT love not only in His Son Jesus, but also in the children that He personally gives to us; I can personally attest to this! We live in a world full of people who are constantly seeking and yearning for unwavering love; as a Momma of two beautiful children, when God decided to bless me with London Victoria and Braxton Alexander, I no longer had to seek or yearn; my own dose of “pretend-free” love was given to me, yes, God chose me! Blessed- I would say so! You know that feeling that you get when you see a handful of extra fries at the bottom of your bag... yeah, that's the feeling I get every time I look at my babies; All Smiles and Extra blessed!
